Thanks Tom for the advice. The KLR has been chipped with an Autothority Chip. I looked at the solder joints but my eyesight is not very good and I did not want to resolder the joints close together and take a chance on connecting them. I have talked with a guy that can repair it at a reasonable fee and if I don't purchase one I will send it to him. I need to get this done within a couple of weeks.
