setup was transferred from previous car k27 maf 3 inch cat back chips on unleaded race fuel. As far as stock goes with just chips I noticed a rise in coolant temps until I went to the cooler setuo after that no problem.

at the moment its way past 5 and its stuck there.i think i mixed up the wiring for the oil pressure sending unit.i can also vouch for the coolant temps.i used hit red everytime i idle at a stop light, now it stays in the middle or 3/4.

For those of you willing to do a little fab work and probably only utilize your 951 for the track...

951racer,
How do you cool the brakes with that cooler setup? It looks like maybe there's room for ducting under the cooler but it's hard to tell from the pic. I take it that's the radiator that you've moved forward? So is the IC altered? Pics? Please??

There is room under the oil cooler for a flat duct, but with that cooler the air gets through pretty easily. There is ducting that forces the air through the cooler.

That big black thing is the intercooler! The radiator sits directly behind it (not in right now).

Duke, The car is in complete disassembly right now and I do not have any current pictures. It is a widebody '89 with a 968 Rear and a big wing. Full Chro-mo cage from front struts to rear. Weight is 2390lbs. ~400rwhp 2.5l.

fully warmed at idle about 3.0 at the track maybe a touch lower at idle while driving always about 4.5.

Just a note, the Kiss cooler does not require any mod to the brake ducts. It will also work with a cool brake kit as well with no mods.

Experience in Kansas with many hot days and many cars is that there is a rise in water temps with a mazda cooler in front of the radiator. It is certianly better than no oil cooler but if you can cool the oil without adding heat to the coolant, it is a 100% net gain in heat rejection. Oil temps drop about 55 deg with no load on the coolant or brakes.

Hi 951Racer,
Looks like an OE intercooler that

951racer,
I'd like to know what cooler that is as well. It looks like it has two "layers" so to speak.
Thanks.
