Default 86' 951 motor, what's it worth

Finally have some garage time scheduled to pull this motor out of our 951 with 175k, ran well before the car was lightly hit on the front it would be sold complete.

I believe for a good running complete motor was around $2,500. But I’ll let someone else chime in.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate that. I would sell this for less I think just do to the miles and the fact someone would probably want to rebuild before it went back in.

You'd probably want to verify no cylinder scoring and good compression. If the cylinders are scored it would cost the rebuilder more to speciality hone or sleeve. Both can get pricy as opposed to just changing bearings.

That's a good idea. I was planning on doing a compression test before I pulled it and a quick look with a scope.
