This should be an interesting thread...

I would take a look at the post below:

I think its possible to get very close to 300 RWHP with a turbo S. But the stock injectors will max out between 275 and 285 RWHP. Or so I have ben told.
I have a turbo S and actually removed the k26/8 turbo and replaced it with a k26/6 turbo. And for daily driving I like it more than before. Around town anyway. It runs out of breath on the highway though. Now I have mabye 235 RWHP. (Guru chips, test pipe and 17PSI boost) If I had kept the K26/8 and did the same with it, chips, test pipe etc I would think I might have 270RWHP or so, but about 500RPM later.
Is your car in pretty good shape now? completely stock or chipped etc?
With just a chip and a straight pipe I think you can look at around 270RWHP with a turbo S as I said above.
Larger injectors and a MAP might be all you need to get around 300RWHP.
Another option might be a new turbo such as a k27/6 , k27/8 or T04B or T04E hybrid. And then of course the larger injectors and a chip mapped for the setup you choose.
How much lag are you willing to accept? what are your plans with the car. Reliable to me in your post means a daily driver? If so you might not care for too much lag. Also what type of budget? 1000$ - 3000$?

Cheers, the budget is pretty much unlimited, but I am not looking for any more than 300rwhp. The car is not a daily driver but I would rather reduce lag as much as possible and it has to be cast iron reliable. Would prefer to keep the standard 26/8 turbo, but I might look at getting a more modern turbo to help the lag reduction. The car is in excellent condition. Right now it is totally standard but I have the Guru kit with 3.0bar FPR shims, accuboost and chips to go on in the next 2-3 weeks. I was going to then get a duel port wastegate and an exhaust(deCAT). Will fit new silicone all round and by pass the cyclic vale connect the wastegate straight to the accuboost. I am hoping that will produce 260rwhp at 15psi, but I gather if I want to run 18psi right up to 6500rpm with the new wasteagte I will have to move up to the 55lb injectors. I would rather wait and get a new turbo at the same time to really cut the lag.

I'm currently doing 270 rwhp @ 13 psi with Guru MAP on an otherwise stock Turbo S. What's holding me back, I think, from seeing more hp is the dropping boost curve. I have the stock WG (shimmed), but it's not good enough to get to 300 rwhp, and on the road you can feel the top end start to go soft as the torque drops off toward redline. To get to 300 rwhp with the stock K26/8, I'm upgrading to the Guru WG and at the same time, upgrading to 55 lb-hr injectors and the new Guru v.9 chips which are mapped to 18 psi. According to Danno, I should see 300-310 rwhp. For street driving, I think that's plenty good enough.

My S is at 260rwhp @ 16PSI (Dyana pack dyno)with Guru chips, Lbe and 3 bar FPR. Stock unshimmed wastegate. Not a lot when compared to some of the cars on this board but it feels plenty fast at 260 with lots of midrange punch (3-5K) 300rwhp sure must be an eye opener.
I ride a liter sport bike and it makes the S seem tame in comparison but the S sure is fast for a road car. The new Guru chips will be the last upgrade for sometime until the horsepower bug bites again. Hopefully the new Guru chips will put me in the 270-285 range @ 18PSI.

You're looking at a turbo, injectors, intake alteration (MAF, MAP) and some way to run it all to achcieve 300rwhp with "cast iron" reliability. Look at something like Vitesse's kits with the "quick spool" option.

One thing i wondered about is the Accuboost/reliaboost. When you fit the boost controler, i thought that it would hold the boost untill you hit the designated value lets say 18psi, then it would bleed off boost to the wastegate. If so, i am sure i read that its ok to run 18psi without the bigger injectors because the wasteage will drop the boost to 15 or less and help prevent the mix goiong lean. But if the oost controler is set at 18psi how does this happen.
I am sure i have not quite pick up on whats going on.

Are you thinking about torque? 330lbft at 3500rpm would be nice dropping off to 300lbft at about 5252rpm and holding 220lbft+ at 6500rpm
Sound good to you?

Jake951 is following one of our other MAP kit users with TurboS . Jamie Hileman with larger injectors @ 18psi got over 300rwhp. I helped him out over the phone while he was at the dyno, so I've got the MAP computer calibrations for a TurboS@18psi. With larger injectors, it's not that tough.
