I PURCHASED A 1991 944 PORSCHE CONVERTIBLE
Hello all,
I purchased a 1991 944 Porsche cabriolet non turbo black that needs a lot of work. I am currently getting the motor completely rebuilt(So far $2,200 in cost). The interior is completely shot and needs to be re-done, The paint looks fair but will need to get repainted.
Any tips on what i should or shouldn't do? I just want to make sure if its worth to do a full rebuild.
Questions:
-Should I keep the exterior/interior the same factory color?
-Should i leave the original 4 cylinder?
Thanks,
Jay from Cali

Don't Spend 200K on it.... Make the decision now... Either keep it 100% Stock or Mod it and have fun Driven the hell out of it.. It seems the more you Mod one of these cars the less they are worth.
For me, when I see a for sale add with tons of go fast stuff on them all I see is "I beat the hell out of this car and now im selling it" You must put pen to paper and figure out how to end up with something you are happy with.. My Track car is a Turbo-S but, It was so far gone I would have had to spend 60K to get a nice 25K car in the end... Wasn't worth it. Its all about your goal and your budget..
And yea... Put a turbo on it... Especially because you asked the question in the Turbo Forum...

What turbo motors are compatible with a 1991 944 s2??
Like i said i am new to the Porsche world:
I heard of people throwing in turbos but a lot of mods to make it fit.
Thank you,

Jay,
The factory color was black on black.
i guess my goal is to make it profitable. Just in case i do need to sell.
Wednesday i am going to see the progress on the stock motor rebuild.
I will post up pictures by next week. So far my budget is 12k.
Thanks all,

Black on Black is fairly common color combination.
Easiest (read least expensive) method to turbo is to find a turbo engine, wiring harness and other associated parts and swap them into the car. You could sell the existing engine to offset the cost (or trade). You can spend as much as your wallet and SWMBO will allow.
