Default WBO2: Innovate vs. PLX 300

Since my cross-over pipe, exhaust manifolds etc are off for ceramic coating I'm thinking it's the perfect time to add a bung for a WBO2 sensor.

I've narrowed it down to the either the Innovate or PLX model. Both appear to be great products. I know the Innovate model has a 44 minute data logging capablity. For PLX users, can it data log with the Powerperfect SMT6?

I like the display of the PLX but would like to have a way to see what the A/F ratio is doing when I'm hammering the **** ouf of it

Mike I hope you plan to add that bung in an area other then the cross pipe. It has been advised not to use a Bosch wideband sensor in a high pressure place like the c-pipe. Your down pipe or test pipe may be a better choice.

Also, the Innovate wideband is similar to the Tec Edge unit I have. A lot of nifty features. Those features are great when that is all you have, but when your using a system like the SMT6, there's no point of having the built in dataloging on the wideband, as the SMT6 will have all that covered.

Porsche put it in the downpipe, and that would be the best but for ease of access just in front of the Cat would probably work.

Thanks guys. I actually don't have a clue where it is supposed to go and was assuming somewhere near the original O2 sensor.

Found a place that sells the PLX 300 for $309. Anybody know a better price?

Hi, i will install my M300 at the weekend... i will put it before the cat near the starter cause the Bosch-sensor doesn´t like the heat/pressure at the stock-place... I use the M300 in combination with a Lindsey Mafterburner...

Regards,
Wolfgang

Just because Porsche put the narrow band 02 in the downpipe doesn't mean we should put a wideband there.

It does if your wideband can't take the heat of being in the system before the turbo. If your wideband can take 1600F and maybe more then it doesn't matter too much except it should be after the collector so all cylinders are being measured.

Dan, both of units that Mike B asked about use the Bosch sensor.

Hi,
here are some pics of my M300 install....

All the goods things in one package...

Important: It´s no bung for the installation included... You need a M18x1,5
Like i told i used a position near the cat to keep the temps low...

This is the installed sensor... i keep the original one for the DME and use the WB just for datalogging/tuning

Regards,
Wolfgang
