89 turbo "big blacks" are Brembos?
Hey guys, I took my driver side front wheel off today, and took a look at the back of my brakes. They say Brembo. The factory "big black" brakes on the 89 turbos where Brembos?
Excuse my noobiness, thanks.

Cyrus,
The TurboS calipers are commonly known as S4-type calipers (because they originated from the 928S4). They physically pretty similar in size as the BigRed/BigBlacks. The S4 calipers actually have larger pistons than the BR/BB, but the overall swept area on the BR/BB is larger (due to larger rotors/pads). The S4/rotor combo will fit under under 16" wheels, while the BR/BB's need 17" wheels.
The S4/BB/BR all use the same mounting method, so you can remove your S4 calipers and install BR/BB's without any adapters. In addition, you can use the larger rotors also (1 piece or 2 piece) without adapters.
Strangely enough (I guess due to supply/demand), new BR/BB's are actually cheaper to buy than S4 calipers...

Sick, yes, if you mean that they are ill and function poorly. Check the 996 threads about the poor quality of the pccb's and I think you'll change your awe. On the same note, Ferrari is now facing the same anger from customers when the new Challenge Stradale and Enzo customers take them to the track and find talcum powder instead of rotor vents and get dinged for $13k to replace.
