FYI: Edelbrock 3660 fuel rail "almost fits" 944...
Hi,
for anyone looking to get a "billet" fuel rail its worth considering the Edelbrock 3660. $185 for a pair!
It's designed for the 1960s Chrysler 426 Hemi (RB engine with Hemi heads)...4.800"/121.92mm bore spacing vs the 944/928 4.803"/122.00mm.
0.003" or 0.08mm difference from cylinder to cylinder means from end to end of the manifold you're 0.009"/0.24mm off... which can be probably accommodated by the orings.
You'd need to fab your own brackets to attach the rail as the supplied ones and drilled holes in the rail don't line up to the 944 manifold bosses.
Pictured on an 8v and 16v manifold for reference.

Good find!
The centerline spacing difference is even less (.12mm at cyls. 1 + 4, .04mm at cyls. 2 + 3) considering a layout from center of the rail.
Does this rail have connections (AN?) on both ends?
BTW love the vintage B&D workmate!

Three Wheelin'
Those dimensional variations are fine. I used a V8 fuel rail for years, and the total misalignment at the front and rear cylinders is closer to 0.0625" (1.59 mm). I've never had a fuel or boost leak around the seals.

the workmate was inherited from my dad, it is maybe 1975 vintage. in good shape, very useful, but the wood's been replaced a few times.
