New Rough Bock Pics - Deck Plate Engine

The 968 is less aerodynamic vs. a 944 turbo. May have better gearing I suppose, but I doubt either would make much of a difference w/that type of power, if the power curve is somewhat flat. It ought to be w/3+liters of displacement.
So I guess you're staying with 944 turbos (or 968, whatever) afterall?

Opps...
You're correct, by .01. My bad!
I'm bored, thus the new engine project. Who knows what will happen. I keep saying that I'm selling my red 951, but have I really tried to sell it? :-)
It would take someone flashing a pile of cash to get me to part with it.
Of course, that pile of cash would be poured right back into the next project :-)
It never ends... analagous the crack pipe I suppose.

Tony, will you be using a 968 or S2 head?
Good luck with your project - you are definitely taking the 951 to new levels (with PD's help of course)
Very exciting news man!!
BTW... jealous.... very jealous!!!

S2 Head.
I don't want the Vario cam.
The S2 head will have substaintial modifications with respect to tensioner mounts made as part of the head development program, as well as serious flow bench work/porting/larger valves, solid lifters, etc...

You must be going to the CDI ignition Neil told me about. It sounded great, but was a little pricey for me.
Good luck on the project, but I doubt you'll need luck with PD doing the work.

Let me clarify on the Rennlist membership..
It does matter than I am a member, and that I contribute financially to the costs associated of running this web site.
It does not matter, at least to me, that my Rennlist designation for some reason doesn't appear. It's just not worth the phone call to John Dunkle. I'm sure John D has plenty of other things more important to figure out :-)
Big difference,
TonyG

Tony, your engine project looks great!! I am also having Neil at Performance Developments perform much of the work on my engine. And, it sounds like our engines might have a lot in common because I am doing the sleeved block, 16 valve head, etc, etc, too.
With my setup, both of my cams will be driven by an aftermarket wider timing belt via custom dual cam gears from David Chen. If you are interested in this setup, I could put you in touch with him.
Some further questions:
1. Are you going to dry sump your engine?
2. Are you going to run balance shafts?
3. What is the target date for when your engine will be finished?
4. Who is going to fab your intake and exhaust?
5. How serious of a road racing chassis are you going to put this engine into?
Best regards,
Jeff
