Anyone who purchase this care to share experience? Was a gasket used? Looking to buy one to replace the ford unit.

There's only room for a few extra mm's on the stock throttle body. I had maxbore do mine, and it's better than nothing, but not much of a difference really. And I've yet to try installing the 65mm one...

Any updates on using this throttle body? Good? Bad?
Did you sort out the vacuum port?

I'm in the process of setting up a 3.0L Turbo build (S2 block, 3.0L crank, 2.7L head) and have been digging into the throttle body options.
So far this 65mm universal unit seems to be the simplest and cleanest option.
The only Ford 4.6L 65mm throttle bodies I can find are almost the same price and are in desperate need of a thorough refurbishment. Or they're the BBK variant and are priced out the nose.

Regarding the MaxBore, right, they'll take it from 56mm to ~59.5mm. Limited due to the thickness of material where the airway of the throttle body meets the boss for the shaft. There's a great picture for a visual aid in the FAQ of their website:

I have one running on my 1.8T swap.
Made up a simple bracket for the TPS, and it looked exactly like the picture here.
Seems to work just fine. Looks to be very nicely made
And unlike the rest of the swap, zero issues.

So, I ended up purchasing the same aftermarket 65mm throttle body as the original poster.
It’s built well although bulky.

I’m using an Evergreen Turbo upgraded K27/8 for my build and found there isn’t enough clearance to the turbo compressor housing to use this throttle body as it is. However a friend with a milling machine will mill the bottom edge down for me to create the needed clearance.

What I just realized from looking at 944 Turbo engine bay pictures though is that I believe the throttle cable pulley is going to interfere with the turbo coolant pump and bracket.

Any have experience using one of these on a Turbo 944?

Also will note, unfortunately Maxbore closed their business Nov 2023 per their website.

Just a follow-up, this throttle body will not work on a Turbo without modification.
The throttle cable pulley interferes with the brake booster heat shield and the turbocharger coolant pump and bracket.

There’s a 3.0L Turbo on Bring A Trailer that used this throttle body but they chopped up, shortened and welded the intake manifold which created room.

Even with the spacer the throttle cable pulley interferes.

Here’s the setup from the 3.0L on BAT. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...-944-turbo-45/

Back to the stock throttle body for the time being.
My 3.0L Turbo is almost ready to start.
