Probably doesn't hurt, but have no fear. Yours will come off probably with the air gun or almost certainly with a long enough breaker pipe. I gave up on that one that bent the bar stock simply because I was pulling the crank to toss it and use the block. It was one in a thousand honestly.

If it's never been removed before, it'll fight you. Use penetrating lube and any other tricks to ease the struggle.

I didn't have a problem using a standard breaker bar resting on the ground while bumping the starter to bust it loose. some nuts may be harder to bust though I guess.
