Yes they are coils mounted there. It would be nice to have a can that could fit there it couldn't be that tall though because of the water line. Or you could make it tall and skinny so it could fit between the water line and the belt covers.

I think I will make a very skinny version with a easy to reach release valve to drain it... mine wont fit where you suggest as my filter is there.

I was just looking at something why not remove that water tube and re-route the line it looks like it would be rather simple. I have the front of mine apart I'm going to mess with it I'll let you know.

Are you referring to the air box bracket... water tube? If so you can buy the factory hose to replace that.

Requires a 3/4" coupling and a couple of hose clamps.

Really? I need that hose! I started a thread to examine all those little factory bits that replace stuff we dont want or want to change ie the timing cover cap, the under manifold venturi removal, PS hose that goes straight down... do you have the part number handy Tony?

Anyone have pics of any of the air/oil separators that are sold as stock replacements by various companies? I'm curious what they change to be more effective.

Don't have the part number... but I think it's off of a N/A car.

If you plumb the return below the oil level .... aren't you going to aerate the oil in the sump?

I have recently made an SS catch can that has a K&N and no return into the intake. Been running it a month with no smells...

When people are referring to drilling out the restrictor in the oil tube, is it simply the opening in the tube that the rubber line connects to? Or is it somewhere else? Does it need to come off to drill so shaving dont fall down? Or am I missing something?

Ok, is there just a clamp connector holding the tube in place near the base? Shall I just drill it out as big as I can go?
