Default Ebay Headers: I am the guinea pig

My 2-3 header had multiple cracks in it so it was time for a replacement. Right away I want to say that the SFR and Lindsey headers are undoubtedly better than what I bought, but nobody here has tried the OBX headers yet and reported back. For $299 plus shipping I got the headers, a down pipe (don't need and giving away) and a x-over to wastegate pipe (no idea why they made a replacement for this pipe). They arrived a day late for the autocross so they sit on my floor now.

If they work, great. If they don't I'll let you guys know how long they last. Here are the pics:

Ya know, to be honest, they look about the same as the SFR stg 1's I just took off my car(except for the merge collectors). Looking forward to hearing your opinions.

That's funny they have a tab on the downpipe to bolt to the block like the factory downpipe. These look like the same maker as the ebay BMW e36 S50 type engine headers. The BMW guys eat them up. I'm not sure how they last, however. That DP is goofy, it's a slip fit welded? Strange.

There have been some threads on these, and I'm thinking about ordering some. Many sexy headers out there, but I laugh when I add up an exhaust for my $5000 car, and it comes up to more than half that. And my luck is I'd bolt up the sexy system, with new WG, of course, just in time to blow a head gasket or turbo, or one of the other 161 things that will make my car Lart-bait.

Keep us posted!

That is why you couple the exhaust on top of a full engine rebuild, new turbo, and every other piece new..

Darwin, I look forward to bolting on your stg 1 setup and seeing what I can get done with it... now to work on having a motor to bolt it all up to!

My primary concern with these is the lack of any expansion joint on the #1 primary.. that is a LONG tube with no room for expansion once it is all bolted up... the pipe is going to want to grow with heat application.... the "improved" stock setup has the bellows, the SFR setup uses the slip joint for expansion... these apear to not have ANY expansion allowance...

Watching...

Does LR have a slip joint on the #1?

I wish these OBX had a solid one piece flange like the LR's!
