Default New ITB Intake

This is the final prototype of the 951 8v ITB Intake we hope to be offering in 2018. We already have commitments on some so we are doing everything to make it happen, It utilizes Jenvey throttles which have a good reputation for fit, function and price. Some small changes will be made on the production part which are more aesthetic and slight weight reduction then anything else. Here are a couple of pictures to look at.

You can see some of the detail here you can't see in the photos.

No Thom they are not. The ones on this piece happen to be their 48 to 45mm tapered. We will offer the 51-48 and 45-42 as well for larger and smaller displacement or NA applications. With our built in bellmouth you can see in the CAD drawing, tapered throttle and tapered runner, this should prove ideal.

Curious where are you pulling vacuum from, it’s not clear on your photos. Are the lines plumbed into each runner or is there a fitting on the itbs and are they fed to an air control or bypass valve after the distribution manifold. Nice work btw

Looks to be under each runner or the throttle bodies. I can't remember if Jenvey have provisions for vacuum.

Thanks. The bulky plenum makes them look small on the picture.
Would you consider providing just the flange of the plenum mating with 51mm ITBs?
Anyway, let's see how the production part looks like. Would sure be nice to see a plenum without any sharp edge.

Thanks Magk944.

The prototype has fittings installed into the bottom of the runners. Production part will have them in the flange as you see here. That's one of the many final tweaks. Once you build one to this point, you see how you can improve it and what you have room to do.

They all plumb to the vacuum log where we collect from all 4 cylinders and from there all vacuum devices are connected and plumb as before. It gets kind of busy back there.

Correct. Maybe on some models, but not on the ones we are using.

Armstrong Race Engineering who builds our dry sump has has offered to do a cast plenum for us. If they sell well enough, we may switch to that method and the shape could get more curvy. But before we invest in that tooling, we can
easily change sizes if we feel necessary. The other way you're stuck.

Well, I'm sure they would sell better with a round plenum than with a square one. Alternatively folks like me may be interested in getting just the flanges and build their own plenum themselves. Just a thought.

Thats an elegant solution having them on the flange. On the second part of my previous question, will there be an air bypass provision? I see Jenvey makes reference to a generic system on their website (pic below).

If you're referring to the idle air control valve, no. Our distributor tells us we shouldn't need one. Should they be wrong, we have provisions for it already.
