Default OEM Wastegate Question

In process of removing LR kit from an '88 951S and returning the car to 'stock'. The car came with a box of the OEM stuff that had been removed.

I dismantled it prior to cleaning up and painting and there is no seal between the diaphragm and the wastgate body. Is there meant to be a round seal in the recess at the bottom of the diaphram? Loooks like a 55mm x 2mm diameter rebate that is begging for a seal.

Not that I know of. The valve stem in the wastegate body acts as the seal. See how clean the upper valve stem is.
