Default Oil leak on top of the turbo

I have an oil leak on top the turbo where the line from the block feeds in. I got a used oil line but it just leaks less now. I am considering the LR

Anyone else use this or have any other solutions?

Can you snap a picture of it? Is it a factory k26/8 or otherwise? Off the top of my head, I would say a leaking seal got pinched.

It's from the oil feed Line that comes from the block. I can see the oil puddle on top of the bolts that secure it. Plus, I have a freshly rebuilt turbo thanks to Charlie from Evergreen.

Are the bolts the correct length? Maybe they are not allowing full crush of the oring if they are too long.

I have torqued them down as tight as possible. I have not seen anywhere what they should actually be torqued to, though.

It seems that there has been some warpage with the flange. The surface of it is not flat. So I am having it resurfaced and having the whole part redone like the LR one from a local hydraulics shop. Should be done by Friday.

That's weird -- it's thick steel... How did you conclude it was warped? Are you using a new factory o-ring? Torque spec is 15 ft. lbs. for those M8x20 bolts.

We, me and the guy at hydraulics shop, put it on a flat metal surface and we should see the slight bend. It was not totally flush. And there are oil stains that go to each bolt, hence the leaks. I used several of the factory o rings, all new with the same results. A slow leak that resulted in smoke when I would stop after driving. I also have an endoscope that showed the Leak.

Wow, that's a weird one. Wonder how that happened? Were they able to flatten it back? I probably have a spare somewhere if you need it...

I actually have a spare on now that leaks worse. I'll be picking it up tomorrow, installing and reporting back.
Thanks for the offer

Have you looked closely to make sure there isn't something going on with the turbo mount area, and that neither of your bolts are bottoming out or getting hung up? That's a fairly unusual place for a leak, so to have it with two different hose flanges is curious... One could imagine for example having one bolt too long (or something stuck in the hole), which holds that side up while you torque the other side down and bend the flange?

I just go the turbo rebuilt from Charlie at Evergreen last month, but I first had this problem after I took the turbo off to replace the AOS seals a couple of years ago. I have since bought a new/used unit and that unit was better. It had a slight leak which eventually stopped. When I inspected the mating surface more carefully, I could see an oil stained trail to the bolts.

I can't upload pictures anymore. I get a server 500 error now. I just uploaded a picture last month, too!

Tom, you may be right regarding the Two bolts. I just took off the old one and I noticed that one of them is longer than the other one. How long should they BOTH be?

M8 x 20 as per PET. Don't forget about the washers.
