AC delete question..
Has anyone used the AC delete kit on a 944 turbo at all. Does anyone know if there is an actual performance increase when using the AC delete kit. just wondering.

depends what you mean by performance increase...
when the AC is turned off it does not cost any power whatsoever, aside from some minute frictional loss to turn the pulley bearing...when the AC is ON it can suck up 8-10hp, but 944s are configured to shut off the AC when you go to full throttle.
deleting the AC, depending on how far you go with the delete, can save you up to 40 lbs or so altogether.

I installed the factory delete bracket to save the weight of the compressor. Haven't ripped out the entire system, though.
Install wasn't bad, but there's a bolt at the rear w/ little access. You also need a new (shorter) belt.

One of the big reasons for the AC delete is to reposition the alternator away from the turbo. Depending on how radical you get is how much weight you save.

Having just done this, a couple of notes:
• your current shroud at the rear of the alternator will probably no longer fit in the new location, and you'll need a shroud from an NA instead
• even then, the cables to the alternator may not quite reach the terminals via the 'correct' hole in the new shroud, and you'll have to cut a new slot - at least that's how it was for me
