Hello all! Two weeks ago I bought my first Porsche, a base 1989 944. I looked for about 6 months before I found it. Drove it home from about 50 miles away, with a friend following. Friend said the brake lights cut out about halfway home. So far I found 4 blown fuses and a huge mouse nest in the passenger door. Got most of the electrical things straight and a brake light switch on order ( already cleaned the ground). Car has 90k on it and still has original paint and most of the clear coat is intact. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as I go about fixing this car up.

Boy, I really like that color. 89 is one year only for the 2.7.

Yeah the color is what hooked me. 90% I looked at were red, a few black, a few white, this was the only 944 I saw this color. The one year only 2.7 doesn't bother me, as far as I can tell, parts are the same price as a 2.5 and readily available.

I think the 2.7 is a bonus quite honestly and the head is coveted by every 3.0 turbo conversion guy!

Very nice! Yours doesn't have the buck toothed US front bumper like mine.

The above mentioned mouse nest. When I pulled the panel, the door was half full of nest, seeds and mouse feces. The little bastards chewed through the wires for the lighted door lock *****.

Default Similar situation

Hi 72Harley-
I had a nearly identical situation right after I took possession of my car, but instead it was under the shift boot. All of the sound/thermo dampening was turned into a luxurious mouse hostel. I probably lost 3 lbs by vacuuming it out.

72Harley,

I actually owned a 72 Sportster & FLH many years back...
No more bikes, just my 84 NA now.

I still have my 1972 XLH, but I don't ride it anymore. Should fire it up and dust it off.
