Default radiator fans keeps on running

hi folks, can anyone help with info?

1989 944s2

Both radiator fans keep running when the car is shut off. I have to remove the big double relay in the fuse panel to make them shut off when I park the car. Where should I start looking? At the temperature switch on the radiator or the relay? Any way to test the switch and the relay?

Thanks,

They will sometimes do that, mine used to run for a good few minutes, thats normal,

it could be the relay, though I doubt it, more than likly the temp switch, just swap it out

Same problem as Arista had......now I realise that the fans will continue to run after switch-off if the motor is still hot, but these just don't stop.
After pulling the monster double relay, leaving it for some hours, and then re-inserting the relay, all is well.........walk away.......and suddenly the fans start up!
Is this voodoo or a bad relay, or is there something else I should be checking?

Cheers Pete

faulty fan switch (left-hand upper corner of radiator) or faulty relay, my guess is faulty relay.

On Temp switch, its of Temperature sensor on the Radiator, Normally off when cold, closed circuit when hot. Test is: Ohm meter , connect. Closed circuit for Hot and open for cold. Common to fail close / on and run fans until battery is dead.
