I have recently purchased a 1986 944.
I have no history but have been told by previous owner it has had a bigger replacement engine but don't know which one.
I know it's not 3.0.
Engine number starts M44/05 I believe.
Can anyone tell me if this is correct and what cc it is?

Could be a 2.7. I did that upgrade (?) to mine.
