Window tint or not?
I am picking up my 88 944 na today at 11am. First 944, and Porsche experience. This is a one owner car and looks to be well taken care of. What are your thoughts on window tint? That large back window looks like a heat he realtor and I don't want my dash to crack. The a.c. doesn't work too, but I would rather hear the engine anyway.

Especially with no AC, I'd go for tint, assuming you don't do a ton of hauling of stuff in the hatch that could scrape up the tint. You don't want to get a nice tint job done, then scratch it up hauling stuff a week later.
One other thing, though- be *sure* you get it done at a quality tint shop. That hatch is a PAIN to tint, and is really easy to not get right, so it's not the place to skimp. Also, poor quality tint won't last as long, and dead tint sucks even more than no tint. (I can't actually see anything useful out of my hatch due to old, dead, now-purple tint, and it SUCKS to remove.)

Thanks for the replies. I guess I will wait til next Spring and decide from there. Bad tint with bubbles looks horrible, and I would use a quality company if I decide to do it.

I'd almost chalk it up to where you are. In Indiana, I was all for the tint, but it was far from essential. Now that I I'm in Colorado, I'd call it almost a necessity just due to the heat fro the freaking sun...
