Another newbie
Greetings from Texas, I am new to the forum and to Porsche. I recently purchased a 1984 with 140+ miles on it. She needs some work, but overall the car doesn't seem to be in too bad of shape (but what do I know). I believe that I am the third owner of this car and I am trying to locate history/maintance records on it, from a guy that has done work on it.
This car was bought strickly out of desire because I have always wanted one. My intentions are just to clean her up and drive, doing maintenance without doing alot of mods.
I have been lurking here a few days and reading everything I could. There are a few items I need to address before I can drive, one of which is the brakes. I have found clarks-garage and looked over the pdf on the brakes, so I'll be working on those tonight.
Where is a good place to find a shop manual for this car?
Thanks,
Tim

Apparently Porsche puts out a very thorough manual, I have been told (I heard 'round $250), I don't know where the best place is to get it tho... Anyone help with this?

I found clarks-garage and I will also get a Haynes. That plus alot of searching on this forum
I bought this car from a guy that recently moved to Texas. He came from CA and had Tim Comeau work on this car several times. I spoke with Tim (super nice guy) about the car yesterday and he is going to send me the documentation that he has.
Got her inspected on Saturday and registered yesterday. Drove her to work yesterday and today and I love this car
I don't mind the Texas heat so much, but I do need to see if I can get the A/C going.
Thanks,
Tim
