Got the billet stock needed set up and programming the adapter. I'm taking it one step further and adding a recess/step so the same adapter can be extended with a flange to install the 1uzfe, 2uz, or 3uz in the 928 as well....all a bolt-on affair....
Not only the 4.0, but the 4.7, 5.4, and 5.7 DOHC V8's can be swapped with this set-up........

If you build it they will come including myself. Doing 3 extra, 1 for Jarmin, one for ME, and 2 spares. These engines can rev past 8K all day and not explode. Parts are cheap and folks on the other side of the pond have difficulty finding Chevy LS engines that don't require a second mortgage.
Speaking of the other side, I'm adding extra TOB setscrew positions that clock it on the right side.... English version meets Old English LoL

I was going to this for an engine for the 944, realized i have no space though . Oh well.
Curious how you go about designing motor mounts, especially if theyre not solid ones.
Do you design a new clutch and spline adapter too?

Just like the LS swap, the mounts will be angled from the X-member. Once the adapter/Bellhousing is mounted to the Torque tube, which dictates engine position, then uprights are welded from the Xmember MM locations to the factory 1uz MM locations. The best way to do it is use cylindrical poly mounts. Tac weld them, remove poly bushings, then fully weld. I'm sure Jarmin will share/post pics since he'll be the first at the swap. The 944 will require a rear sump OP and the 928 will need a front sump OP (picture)...

944UZ ???
948CFR...The 1uz can go 250-300K miles before rebuild. It will be one nasty car when mated with the NA trans gearing too.....
The Russell t56 TOB inlet fitting will be needed on this adapter as the 1uz BH will need 2ea. 1/2" dia. holes drilled in it depending on right hand drive car or Yankee style, I added the extra TOB clocking position setscrews....

What are you charging for these? My other car is a Lexus and my independent Lexus mechanic has a nice low mile 92 LS400 motor that he wants rid of bad.

I'm still working on the motor mount details and I'll be putting together a basic kit with flywheel and conversion clutch disc and clutch line adapters for the factory 944 MC. I'll keep posted.

I am in the middle of this 1UZFE swap into my 87 944. and i love seeing people trying to get this engine into these dope cars.

From the engine pics and from what Zach is saying, the 1uz mounts can be adapted to the 944 X-member. Heck they look to be the exact angle of the X-member at those points. That said, if the mounts can be modeled from wood or steel, I'll machine them from billet so a jig does not have to be made.

Man Xschop I dunno... The LS swap works so well... Good on 'ya doing this with the Toyota engine and all... But what if the end user wants to mod it? The LSX has literately thousands of mods available (low cost too)... Its as reliable as a stone, and makes gobs of power.
Take it from me. I modded my LS after the swap, and I will continue to till the cows come home. I just cant say I could be content any other way.
