Today, my younger brother leaned on my left side mirror on my 944 and broke it off.
Naturally, I am the most pissed brother in the world right now as I just put $500 worth of my hard-earned money into the car. Now this. It doesn't appear anything is broken, and all the wiring is intact. The mirror will just fall down if I were to go over a bump for example. Can anyone can help solve my dilemma (without duct tape) ???

It's probably the spring within the housing. It basically holds the flag to the base. You can try to get a new spring and hardware from somewhere like DC Automotive, or see if anyone on here has a mirror that they can get you (assuming you don't want to upgrade to the 968 mirrors while you're at it). I would give you mine, but my driver's side breaking is what prompted me to convert to 968 mirrors.
