944 '88 with 996 wheels ?
Hello,
I might sell my 996TT wheels (8x18" ET50 & 11x18" ET45) for my friends 944 project...Does anybody know is it possible at all without major fender work or rubbing ?
Anyway what are the widest wheels you know that fits the 944 ?
(nice offset calculator btw: http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html)
thanks!

I have a 1989 S2 and am running 8.5 and 10 x 18s (limited by PCA racing class rules) with no problem (245 front, 285 rear). I wouldn't be surprised to see 11s fit on the rear (haven't tried it) and the guys at CCW, where I got my wheels, claim they can make 10s that will fit on the front.

Should be okay. Tire size will determine rub. With 18's you'll have to watch power loss due to larger dia. run-out. Get low-profile tire to compesate (like 225X 40 fronts and 275X35 rear, or lower), and be careful not to bend the fancy new rims!
