Default Looking for 944 S2

Hi 1st timer here Here's a newb question for all of you...

I've decided I'd like to venture into the relm of PCA. Before I can, I need a car So, where are the best places to look for a 944 S2? I've been looking on Auto Trader, cars.com, etc

Any suggestions would be welcome.

TIA!

I can only speak from my expirence searching, but it took at a good 4 years and a 924S as a daily driver before I found my S2, be patient, thats my advice.

Are you only looking for an S2? if its the natural apsiration your after, there are many of the 2.5 n/a's out there as well.

Well, if I can't find an S2 soon, I'll probably get a 951, since I'd like to have a 200+ horsepower car.

Other then ebay, autotrader, etc, where are some good places to look?

Thanks!

There are always a few S2 models on eBayMotors. May be worth looking at one not to far from you, or if your willing taking a trip out, buying the car (if it checks out) and driving it back.

One thing that really surpises me is how often i see different S2 Cab's on eBay. I thought they were a rarer model.

Default 944S2 OR 951

I would think that you need to decide if you want a sweet DOHC daily driver or you want BIG HP.
And yes, I was thinking why haven't you checked the classifieds here? There were two S2's for sale there. I am flying to Tampa Florida Friday to check out the one going for $8900. Don't even think about it man, man. Has some expensive paint issues though. Oh well, such is the price of love. There was a totally sexy black one for sale however for like $6900 or B.O.
Check it out man. You don't have to go far!

The S2 and the 951 are very different cars. S2s make better low speed street cars and auto-xers, 951s make better high hp track beasts. Give your search a good 6 months, plan on spending a bit more and buy a lower mileage nicer example with good options (like lsd) and good maintenance.

Thank you all very much for the good advice!

I wonder why, when I go to the classifieds page, all I get is a big warning about spammers, etc, but no links to the actual classifieds themselves. Hmmm

I don't know what the catch is, but with 15 hours to go, and currently only at $3150, this S2 is worth a look and it's only the next state over for you: eBay auction

Default Find Porsches here

I found my S2 on one of the Porsche Club of America sites. There's one around for every region and they seem to let non-members onto their classifieds section e.g. try http://www.pcaucr.org/pcaucr/site/home.jsp for the Upper Canada region.

As indicated elsewhere, it took me about 6 months to find the right one, but well worth the effort and, anyway, the search is a very good education in itself.

Hope you find the perfect match.
