Hello I was looking to purchase a clean 944 turbo for a fair price and fair as in 20k with a great maintenance history. The only thing turning me away is the car is exempt from odometer reporting according to a Carfax report. I know odometer issues are a thing for these cars so I'm assuming the gear may have broken at some point in time. I'm not really looking to get a garage queen car, I want something I can drive but in case as things change I end up selling the car to get something else at some point in time. The car was exempt after 53k miles which was in 2013 and now has 56k miles after 2 owners. Would you guys let this play a major roll in the purchase?

 

Personally, I wouldn't as.most have had a broken odometer at some point and the maintenance history is more important than the mileage on these. Bought our S2 with 165k miles on it.
