Question Body Panel Question/Fix

Hello everyone, I just purchased this 1986 944NA that has had the turbo bumper put on. Overall am I super happy with the car. HOWEVER, I need help identifying the issue with the nose panel, lights and/or hood that is driving me nuts. See this picture here of the front view. The nose panel appears too small, or is off center and there is a large gap between the right side of the panel and the right headlight housing.

Yeh, that's a mess of mis-matched and damaged components. Looks like headlight covers from a base model, maybe a turbo / S2 valance that's damaged (possibly an attempt at better fit?) and hard to know from the front, but possibly base model fenders.

So, would purchasing and installing Base model NA front valence fill in the gaps, or will it not fit because of the turbo bumper?

Or would purchasing Turbo headlight covers work better? Are the Turbo/S2 headlight covers bigger/different shape?

The turbo / S2 bumper design has a different arc that projects farther forward than the base model. The headlight covers and front plastic surrounds are different to accommodate that difference. Post some different angle photos for a better evaluation.

Here are a few more angles. The straight down view you can definitely tell that the headlight shape doesn't fit into the front valence design shape.

Looks as though you have an aftermarket front bumper cover made to "fit" the different front shape of the base model fenders. It is likely made of fiberglass, not urethane like the factory piece. Good news is that composites are easy to repair and modify. Obviously, that piece doesn't fit well so removal and a fitting process would be in order along with replacement of the headlight covers and front bezels.
It will be interesting to see if there is a crash bar behind the cover as well.
