Default 1989 944 Vacuum line mess!

My 1989 944 has more connections than lines.

Where do the top three circled lines go? Also, there is no heater control valve anywhere?? There is no nipple on the brake booster. I don't see any other vacuum lines anywhere that aren't attached...Is the 1989 2.7 different? Thank you for any help!!

Is an '89 a 3L? Either way, vacuum lines kill me with these cars. If it's a <3L engine, the Lindsey Racing diagrams will probably help. If not, I am still working on a finalized diagram, but here is where I started with my 968, which might be helpful to you: https://rennlist.com/forums/968-foru...e-diagram.html

Good luck

Thank you! Mine is a little different. Lindsey Racing has some 944 2.7 diagrams as well as Clarks but I cant find one that matches my engine design. Herer is a picture of my set up. If I could only see where those vacuum lines went....

Here's another one that you may have already seen. It's very good but didn't help me with my questions, alas. It may be just the ticket for you, though: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...86-944-na.html

So this makes me scratch my head- wasn't '89 the first year of the 3.0L ("S2")? Was there such a thing as a '89 2.5L? Were they sold side by side?

The standard 944 was available in 1989 and had a 2.7L, 8 valve engine. Yes, it was sold along side the 1989 944 S2 that had a 16 valve 3.0L.

Thank you for looking, but I don't have a vacuum nipple off the brake booster and the lines run run a little differently. I took it to the shop a couple years ago, its been sitting since, and it seems like the mechanic removed the heater control valve (plastic) - its missing. I don't know why someone would remove it but that would explain why I have an extra vacuum line with nowhere to go.
What was he thinking?
How hard is to install a new one with new hoses?

Hello!

Did you get vacuum layout for the 2.7? I have a dilemma in that my car is a right hand drive 2.7 with the brake servo being fed directly off the manifold.
All diagrams are for LHD and the onlne pdf workshop manual is hard to navigate.

I have an extra "what looks like a vacuum line" open at the base of the windshield on a 1987 944S. If you pull up the heater/blower cover it comes from the drivers side"attached" and just drops off next to the battery.

I don't know that my diagram will help with things, but there are some links at the beginning that I leaned on to get things figured out, that might be useful to folks here: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...e-diagram.html

Cheers
