Smile Vacuum Lines diagram 1986 944 NA

I had to look for vacuum leaks on my '86 944 NA. I made this drawing from photographing my engine and then overlaying in photoshop. Thought this could be helpful to anyone trying to work on vacuum lines.

Nice work.
I only see one hose connected to the ISV---one goes in-- one goes out.
One hose is NLA. The other hose that looks like an "S" shape was cracked/leaking on my '87 924S.
There is a short ---maybe 2.5 to 3" hose from the venture to the intake that is prone to rot and cracking.
Replace the large "O" ring from the TB to the intake--WYAIT
Check the one way (blue?) vacuum valves that lead to the heater and AC for cracking.

Have 2 sets of intake gaskets on hand. I used 3 sets last summer and now it is finally perfect. I did not need an new ISV or throttle valve switch--but now have both on hand....
The 2nd and 3rd intake removal is a snap.

Sorry, I am unable to answer your question on the hose with the "metal restrictor".

Nicely done diagram Chalt! Would you be able to answer this? Would a 1987 944S have a similar routing for the vacuum lines? I haven't had any luck finding a diagram for the "S"

Thanks
Bruce

Hi Bruce, Clark's garage has one:

Not perfectly complete, but a good start. You can also look at the PET (parts list) on Porsche's web sit in the historical documents section.

Thanks Mike! I've been on Clark's Garage dozens of times but must have missed this. D'oh! Between those 3 sources, I think I can get this done now.

Great diagram Chault, I'm just refitting my engine now and this is really useful. Also I hope you don't mind, I have shared it on the Porsche 944 No Spam FB page. Cheers Jon
