Pre ABS offset vs post ABS offset

Default Pre ABS offset vs post ABS offset

Does any one know what is the difference between Pre ABS offset wheels + post ABS offset wheels????

If i was to fit pre abs , to a post abs car WHAT would happen?????

Would they catch the arches etc?????

Also

What are the correct offsets of both cars ?????

23.5mm for 1983-1983 and 52mm for 87 on and they're not interchangeable. Mount the 23.5 on the later models and you push tires out into fenders, put 52's on pre and you push the tires in too far. Don't even think about it.

the ABS equipped cars are the same as the 87 onwards. so, as jim says, the 23mm offset can't be used

I shall not buy the pre ABS wheels that ive been offered then.

what I don't know is: what year is "pre ABS"??...if ABS was offered AFTER model year '87 and the wheels are MY '87...then no problem.

just don't use '86 or earlier

I took a quick peek at Kevin Gross' FAQ..."87 model year, ABS anti-lock brakes became an available option"...so 'pre ABS' is also the older offset years of 83 thru and including 86
