Question 86' 944 na Overheating

When ever I drive slow or in stop and go traffic my temp gauge makes it all the way up to red. I thought it was the big fan relay but upon further investigation I don't believe it is. My new suspect is the temp sensor. My fans don't kick on until I turn off the car in which sometimes that doesn't even happen. Is this a common symptom of temp sensor. Also I run really low oil pressure at that temp, like at 1 or below. I am running 15-40W (that's the highest i could get with my home depot gift card). Is that normal? Oil pressure gauge also acts up sometimes too. Showing 6+ bar (off the gauge). Thanks in advanced.

FAN SWITCH in the radiator might be sketchy.
easy change, but youll have to drain the coolant a bit to avoid a mess.
