Am researching my options for a desirable exhaust sound ie Dansk, OBX ,Becker. Cost is not the main factor up to $700
Do you think that replacing catalytic converter with magnaflow direct fit catalytic converter ($388) and keeping stock muffler would give more growl and sound, or perhaps need a full flow aftermarket muffler also for the desired "moderate" sound. Car is a daily driver, sort of.
I would prefer to keep some catalytic in place for the legal reasons and resale

The stock cat has some sort of resonator function built in, maybe just a result of its large size.
Swapping to an aftermarket emissions-legal (smaller) cat will bring a very nice growl/rasp especially in the 3000-4000rpm range.
