30 years anniversary woohoo!!
It just dawned on me that I've had my 928 for 30 years this year woohoo!! I have a 1983 S model, 5 speed, black on black. I'm the second owner -- I purchased the car from a Hollywood cinematographer in February 1987 (OMG) in Santa Monica after a long long search. The car was just barely broken in, only 10K on the clock! I was in my last year of college and was working multiple jobs to afford it. One of the best purchases I've ever made!
I have a million stories with this car, like the time I was rearended (smashed in front of his car, leaking radiator etc. but literally not a scratch on mine -- hit the bumperettes square on!) I'm also running the S4 wheels that came off Kibort's racer -- which means I'm running on the wheels from the car that set the world speed record for a production car!!
It's been such a sweet ride, and I've done all my own work on the car from the beginning -- which says more about the car frankly than about me -- it's been super reliable! I was just posting in another thread -- the 83 cars are a sweet spot for me -- simple, lots of buttery low end torque, nice gear ratios (love that 5th gear for effortless highway cruising), and in the bigger scheme still very lightweight, amazingly balanced cars that are super tossable and with modern tires will pull at or near 1g cornering, as good as virtually any modern sports car. It may not have 600HP, but it has enough to blow off all merely mortal cars... and that handling in the curves... what a thrill!
Just thought I'd share!!
Cheers,
Rick

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Would love to see more pictures too. How many miles have you put on it? Also, the wheel story is cool. Are they really the ones that were used?
