can someone tell me what this is? Hanging freely under my dash? Couldn't figure out how to search for this answer...thanks

Default Sorry. I have an 82

so, it is supposed to just dangle freely under the dash area? That felt weird to ask...

Look at upper reach of pedal arm. Should find an empty bracket or screw hole for attachment.
