Default OCD "deep" cleaning

I decided to do some "deep" cleaning of my 78 Euro. One thing led to another... I self diagnosed OCD when I passed the 2000th Q-tip in the process.

This car has spent the majority of its life garage. I think for an almost 40 year old the color fade has been more than acceptable..

Any object that passes through thousands of miles of atmosphere gets filthy, everywhere. The backs of all the interior panels, the underside of the dash, console, they're all disgusting, with that mixture of dust and oily residue. Very satisfying to clean, no matter how nice the outside of the car is.

As a reformed "concours" geek I fully understand the OCD nature of it. Even well kept cars are dirty if you look hard enough.... a hint never-ever look under the car

It's hardly OCD; it's the new "normal" around here. You are among sympathetic and understanding friends!

I actually find it very therapeutic.

The inner tail light housings were dusty.

This type of behavior is reenlist-normal.

I feel like I am the worst here. I daily my cars so the interior is almost spotless, I even replaced the insulation with 3M Thinsulate to get rid of the crayon smell.

However, my cars are dusty and dirty as hell outside because the paint is sh*t on both

Once I get them nice then I will become OCD like the rest of you, just no point in polishing paint that is nearly faded to the base coat.

OCD isn't a bad thing....had the belly pans off for oil change, so, spent some time buffing it nice and shiny, only I know it's that clean!

Well, I don't think that sort of cleaning constitutes OCD.

Keeping track of how many Q-tips you used however...

Deep OCD cleaning is very depressing, because you always find something that you never noticed that's broken, cracked, or otherwise needs attention.
