I have a really tough time looking at the pics of it burning. PTSD I guess. Dealing with the insurance company and all the rest of the crap as well as more than once considering just abandoning the project. It would have been easy to just walk away, take the money and buy another. I just did a CarFax look up and it does not show anything other than it was smogged a year and half ago. Doesn't really matter for I'm not selling it. What kept me going on it was when Greg Brown told me he had fixed worse. That was my open door. The body shop was not intimidated by it. It's been a fun adventure, met a lot of interesting people along the way and I'm sure more to come.

No. It's not "retard"
It's passion. Well. maybe more than that.
It's dedication. Well, maybe it's more than that.
It's a love for these cars that surpasses all others. Well, maybe more than that.
It's an obsession. Well, maybe more than that.
It's a compulsion. Well, maybe more than that.
It's...
On second thought, you're right.
It's full retard. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
But if it's any consolation, he's not alone.

I've been repairing and building Porsches for almost 50 years.
In the past, I thought that nothing was logical about upgrading a Porsche....
However, the 928 model has made more sense, to me, than any other model I've worked on.
Magnificent cars.
One of the very best cars ever produced, in my opinion.
And everything I make and build makes these cars more magnificent.

I believe.... 100% sure like Greg who has been around racing and getting cars to win, I raced sports cars for 25 years. Chased cars in England, I've been in shops where all they wanted was a firewall with a chassis number so they could re-make a Ferrari. All you need is a chassis number.
Like Alfa GTA's, they only made 500 and 250 burned to the ground or destroyed and today there are only 750 left. We can make anything if we want to. As Winston Churchill said.
"Success is going from failure to failure with enthusiasm"
When this car is finished and it soon will be, it won't happen again.
The 928 is a very special car and not to be dismissed. These cars will never be made again and it's our duty to keep them alive.

Just returned from the paint shop. Tuesday the car goes back to GB's. Colin has made a cool set of cams and headers are on the list with the pistons/rods and crank. Going for broke. Now to sell my 80
