My casual thought after reading so far:

-- Take look at the resto thread from Rob & William's early project car from a year or so ago. I'll try and find a link.

-- Waste no time trying to sand through the outer layer without disturbing the original finish. It's a ton of filthy work and you won't be successful.

-- Instead, spend your effort completely disassembling and cataloging what's there.

-- Have the whole tub media-blasted so you and your body-paint guys can assess the repair work needed.

-- While that's being done you can start on the pieces needed to put back in.

The biggest challenge is going to be finding replacement parts that can be made to be nice enough to make you happy with the final product. There's no part of a 928 that can't be restored, it's just a lot harder if you're starting with a big list of missing or trashed parts.

Here's the link to William's project '78, the dirty secret is that under the slightly neglected surface it was a really nice and complete car.

Default Slow Progress

Made some good progress over the last couple days. Seat removed, interior bits removed.
Drivers window motor still works and got it all tight
Passenger window motor missing so we were able to lift it and block it to keep weather and animals out while it waits for its spot in the shop.
Found more owners history in glove box.
never said this was going to be quick but still very excited about the prospects!

Well its two years down the road and no progress has been made. I'm afraid that this needs to move on to someone else. Please contact me through PM if you are interested. The 928 is in Portland Oregon and is a non-runner. Title in previous owners name from Washington state. shows as clean title.
Thanks

Default Sold again

This was on Ebay a couple days ago and sold again. I was contacted by new owner who's pretty excited to have this and has a lot of experience with 928's. I'm hopeful this will rise up again and be restored!
