Thanks VanD! Watched your video numerous times before pulling the trigger. Looks like a black interior, but I'd like to add Pascha of course. I will be ordering COA this week. History is a little scattered but one of the prev owners is a little better informed I think about the history. I'll be picking up some parts from him next week that are missing from the car.
Started to clean the interior out yesterday. Bagging and tagging what I can.
Thanks for all the positive comments.
This will be my second full resto I have been involved with, the first being this Datsun Roadster.
This was my first 928 S4 5 Speed

So I got it power washed and started to clean the interior then the rains hit. Going to practice sanding on another car to hone my skills at only taking a little bit of paint off at a time. We shall see how successful I am.
Need to get into engine compartment to get the engine number for COA. Do I need transaxle number too?
Thanks

For $100 or whatever a COA costs, They're supposed to be able to tell you the engine # and the transmission #, I would just give them the VIN and see if they get it right. Their batting average is somewhat less than 1.000.

Huh. Begs the question if you give them a gibberish motor serial number, do they just copy it onto the COA?

I just spoke to them 3 days ago about a mistake on my CoA for continental orange #559. They had the correct interior code number (79) but had it listed as brown leather. (79) is black leather per the Porsche interior options book for '78 (thanks Van D) A nice lady then called me back. She said she was looking at the build sheet for my car, and yes it is in fact black leather. She also will add a missing trans. number digit, and build date when she mails me a new one. Since she was looking at the build sheet, I asked if there was any info on where the car was delivered originally. (There was very little back story that came with the car) She said she can't be certain, but it looked like Duane Gleaves VW in Butte Montana. So if anyone has history about an Orange 928 in Montana in 1978, please chime in! Can't imagine that happened more than once in MT!

I've been after this guy for about two years now. Finally picked it up today. Looks like it is original Orange under the bad respray. All the interior shows the correct yellow primer then orange. So is this #9 or 10 that has been found?
Excited to have this in the stable. Now to begin the restoration project. Non runner
VIN 9288200848
5 speed LSD supposedly

Thanks for the positive comments. Yes I know this is a big project but I have some very good people to work with locally. The Datsun Roadster was a 7 year project, but we got it done.
Thanks Stan for your thoughts. I'd really like to make this a 95+ car.
