the plastic piece on my #209 was cracked, I saved the shifter off of the #350 I had but can not just replace the plastic piece easily. Does anyone here repair or replace them with good ones? This is the last thing I need to fix on this to make it 100%.
Who should I contact? I would even be willing to trade 2 shifters for one good one with good boot etc.

The plastic boot frame for '78 only is close to unobtanium in 'good' condition, they are all cracked or have lost one of the tabs.
Here's the frame from Minerva (U.S. #107), with the missing tabs at 12 o'clock
and 2 o'clock. We made a small angle bracket (to replicate the one you see at bottom of the pic) and hitched it to the shifter bearing bracket to hold it in place in the console.

Looks like one of those could be compression formed out of ABS plastic and then new tabs glued onto it. too bad there is not likely to be much of a market for them. In that case maybe a one-off could be made by cutting and gluing pieces together then covering it with leather. I wonder what it looks like installed. Five speed or Auto? Or both/either?

Thank you for the input.
Both pieces I have are in way better shape than the one pictured. I just can get it to stay where it is supposed to. One of the plastic pieces I have are not broken at all still 100% just the leather is wore out bad. The other one has a small crack but the leather is in 100% new shape. I will try and glue or weld the cracked one maybe that will work. trying to change the plastic pieces is a nightmare!

Dave - a bit OT, but think about bringing that car to Pittsburgh this summer for the PVGP - we are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 928, and there will be lots of special early cars there, including preproduction VIN #1 and #6. Would love to see your early car in the field too. Details here: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-14-16-a.html;

And so how are these removed without breaking out the tabs. Most of the ones that I have had were already loose.
The 82 has it very secure and I hesitate to try to pull it to inspect short shifter.
