I have a 79. My low rpm bucking turned out to be my mixture. I was running too lean. Still fine tuning it but I am curious what you discover on yours.

I did use an eraser on the copper on the mylar - you wont get an eraser into the hood contacts.

And yes...that it the same model radio that all of the cool 78 owners use...which truth be told...all 78 owners are the coolest.

As far as the running issue goes...haven't read all of the replies...but ground terminals would be a place i'd spend some time with.
