Default 1978 928 Fuel Filter

I just need to order the correct replacement. If anyone can provide the correct link or part number, would be appreciated. Looks like mine was last changed 15 years ago...

Also, is there more than one fuel filter on these 78s? If so, where is the other? I had ordered what I thought was the correct part.

Thanks in advance,
Mark

2 fuel pumps but only 1 fuel filter.
Usual vendors have them on their websites.

The later 80+ filter works fine - you just unscrew on of the adapters on one end.
Saves a lot of $

Looks like you might need a fuel accumulator also. There is also a fuel strainer in the tank. It is NLA, but I was able to reuse the fitting and snap a new filter screen into it. Also be VERY careful removing the strainer, the brass boss in the tank likes to break loose. Good luck.

I agree, the fuel accumulator looks awful. It holds good as-tested pressure though, so on the basis of changing the cheap stuff first.... Hope I can get away with not delving into the tank.

Congrats on owning the 20th North American 928! Mine is the 249th, Jan 1978. What's the build date on yours?

Rule of thumb on these fuel system items is that if it's working and not leaking, leave it be, but I agree that the Fuel Accumulator looks rough. Do not try to remove it until you've verified that you have a proper, correct fitting replacement on hand. I had a heck of a time sourcing the right part with the right lines configuration for my '79 a couple years ago.
