Omg Hoi! I had found the exact same thing on #30 when I bought it. Took me a few days to figure it out, because the guts were ripped out of the starter button. I replaced the ignition switch and did away with the push button.
The other button is the intensive washer button.

hi Ron,
I probably will keep it. Too lazy and scare to mess with a working switch.
Update: the car is actually running pretty good. I think it didn't have much gas in the tank after I got it started earlier. After putting some Techron and more gas in it, it is running pretty well. Adjusted idle back down to 750-800 and it idled fine.
Now, on to the fluids change....
