Thank you for the welcome and compliments @Rocinante @joejoe @GT6ixer @beran earms @oldfrat @granprixweiss928
Hey, Randy! Looking forward to meeting up.
That's encouraging! I hope you're right. I read the new visitor thread. It was definitely informative. Thanks!
I don't know if it should have one or not, but I did notice the danger it could pose. I haven't done much in there, and so far never with the motor running.
Thanks - glad you appreciate the photos. You're right about the "photo credit" nonsense. Funny about the car, too. It was my payment, but so far I'm just putting money into it! haha That "S" reflection thread is pretty funny. I didn't know that was a thing. I'll have to be on the lookout for it.
Yep - that's the one. Thanks!
I'm really glad to hear that because that's my plan, too. Thank you!
Hey, Randy! Looking forward to meeting up.
G'day and Welcome, Brilliant intro!!!! Stunning car!!!
Yes you can afford it, the guys here will talk you through step by step, you will be a mechanic when they are done!!!!
Read the New Visitor sticky if you have not already, a stack of info in that thread.
Look forward to seeing more of her out and about, these cars will give you less trouble if regularly driven, IMO.

Congratulations. You've got a special car, very smooth. Some prefer an S4 or later overall, but nothing beats the pure 928 shape.
The first thing I noticed, however, was the excellent photos. I've been a professional photographer for the past 20 years, so you can take heart that I've been able to learn how to do serious mechanical work on a 928 with the help of forum members. On the other hand, my previous career was such that I've been accused of being a rocket scientist. Back to the photography business, we both know it's a mistake to fall for the "We'll give you a photo credit" offer, instead of money; some 928's are worth even less than a photo credit. Time will tell!
Check out the "S-reflection" thread for something related to photographing shiny objects. https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...on-thread.html

I was born in 82, so it's special to have a car of that same year.

A well maintained 928 is no more unrealiable than any other car in my experience. I put 50,000miles on my car and had one mechanical problem - timing belt broke in first month of ownership as the belt was over 10 years old. I had it fail to start once - fuel pump relay (keep a spare in the glove box) and once the AC auxiliary fan would not turn off even when the ignition was off. Participated in auto crosses and DE's with my local PCA group, drove in torrential rains and even 1.5" of snow without any drama. For awhile I owned a well-sorted '83 911SC at the same time as my 928 and the 928 felt like it came from the future in comparison. In the late '70's and early '80's it was the best road car Porsche could design and build. Enjoy it.

Thanks @Dave928S and @hlee96!
I like the sound of that! I'm trying to get in at http://precisionmtrwerks.com to fix any current issues and really button things up. My hope is to have them service my car annually without major issues in between because they're 75 miles away from where I live.

Not only is the car great looking, as I was scrolling through the pics, wondering "what kind of camera did he shoot with?" Those pics are insane.
Good luck with the car!

Thanks, man and good luck with yours!
Anyway, these were shot with a Canon 5D Mark III. I used a Sigma Art Series 50mm pretty wide open (f/2.2, maybe) and a Canon 16-35mm IS L something or other. The Canon lens is f/4 and I might have been near there or f/5.6 at the most up near 2500 ISO for the interior shot with a little bounced fill flash from a Canon 600.
