Default 1991 928 ALARM CONTROL MODULE PICTURES REQUIRED!

Hello All, Garry here from Australia and have just joined tonight. Maybe I should have joined 20 years ago when I started this project!! never mind thats another story!!!!
Gentlemen what I am really chasing is some detailed pics of the 'ALARM CONTROL MODULE' that mounts to the floor, has yellow and black plugs, this is in my 91 model. I need actual pics of how this is mounted and the bracket that is used to hold it and the way the wiring harness is fed down and around from the centre console, basically what you have once you lift the seat out and ALL is exposed. I seem to have most of the parts required BUT as I received this car, literally in 'boxes' I need to get a lot more detail for this area, I haven't done to bad though as I have most of the wiring harness in situ and now I have come down to just this I really would like to keep firing!!! The only other thing is that I dont seem to have the wiring harness that comes from the Hatch latch, long key ( 3 pin BLU/YEL/BROWN) that connects to the wiring harness near the sunroof motor that then leads back down to the Alarm Module'??? Bearing in mind this is a RHD model and the wiring harness does vary !!! I would like to know if any RHD people know of this coloured harness that is hooked on to the latch Thank you,
Kind Regards
Garry

Hello Theo, Well you are a life saver mate!!! You may not know how many different ways this thing can mount and the pics on this German forum was one I had not tried and of course when i did it just went in like a glove!!!
Just another 928 peculiarity I suppose and these cars are full of them as we know!
All I need now is the hatch wiring detail Theo but this may be a little difficult as it is RHD and looking at the Porsche numbers there does seem to be a difference?? I am ring the local agent today to see if I can figure things out with them??
Thank you again for your help Theo it is greatly appreciated and so quick!
Regards
Garry

Hello Theo, had another hideous day with this wiring harness!!! after getting everything looking good from the info you sent to me, I have now gone back to the other side (under drivers in LHD) and found what looks to be a mounting area for something I may or may not have (ie diff countries) Theo would you have a link to some pics of this area as please, I have the amp and the fan control in but this mount is closer to the centre of the car and the only thing I have to go there is the Sunroof and window controller but there are no mounting brackets or screw holes in this module, is there a bracket??? the module I have is all black plastic and half of it has been sprayed with glue to hold down the carpet on the floor, I am guessing????

Can't help you with your project, Theo has that sorted it seems, however, 20 years?!! (must be a library of photos...)

As you may know by now, we love PICS!!!! really looking forward to seeing some of your car

A new thread with some history would be great...please

Hello Kiwi, Thank you for getting back to me, Unfortunately I dont have a lot of pics of my car, as already mentioned this really has been a bazaar restoration right from the word go, in a nut shell I started off with a 79 progressed to an 88 S4 and now i am onto an 91 GT and ALL this with out a body leaving the garage?
I will see if I can post a pic for you though.
Cheers

I don't think I have a picture for a RHD car. 'm not sure how the RHD differs form the LHD when talking hatch electrics. But the electrics for the hatch are not complicated. You have a schematic?

Bertrand may be right, the lateral sensor for the PSD (1991 model so a PSD is in). It may also be the mirror controller. Does this help (from my site)? http://jenniskens.livedsl.nl/Technic...7/MyTip713.htm

Lateral acceleration sensor:

In place under my left-hand drive GTS driver's seat,

From the rear (top cover is off, it shouldn't be...)

Hello Theo, Rob and Bertrand,
You guys are brilliant!!!! this all makes so much sense..... and now the wiring again fits the way it was meant to.
As fior LHD vs RHD, what I am finding is that Porsche must have had things pretty well sorted in the 90's as there is NO difference between my car and the pics you have provided from your LHD models!! with these components.
Thank you again guys you have made it so much easier for me.
Garry
