Default Advise on injectors for early MY 87

I know that this topic has been beaten to death, but with all the info I've gotten a little confused. I pulled the injectors fro the RF side and found this. Was I luck not to have a fire?? So I have researched the forum and found things like Volvo Bosch p/n 0 280 155 746 and Bosch p/n 0 280 155 702 then there is Bosch p/n 0 280 150 943 and
Bosch p/n 0 280 150 556 I think that I understand that my 87 needs the #19lb injectors. Am I correct and is there a suggested injector for my stock S4?

Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

I think it is silicon

Picture out of focus: hard to tell what the brown gook on the left-pictured is.

Upper o-ring is still in your fuel rail.

Easy button: order a set of refurbished injectors from Roger. Or - depending upon gook - send to witchhunter.

Yes The O-ring is in the rail. I'm pretty sure that the gook is silicon sealant. Feels rubbery. Pictures should be better from now on, got a new camera from amazon today, 16.5 megapixel instead of my 1.5 on my phone.

Focus is the problem ... more pixels won't fix that

As you've found silicone there, it might be a good idea to go looking for any more landmines in your whole fuel system. Better to be safe ...

On my way to doing an intake refresh. Just one of the things that I have found along the way. Probably stumble upon more as I dig deeper. I think that this newer camera has stabilization and better focus capability, we'll see how it goes. Hopefully it will be better than my $20.00 tracfone.

Thanks Dave you are right, better safe than sorry. I also purchased all new fuel lines from Roger. Following Dwayne's write-up on his 87 intake refresh. Most of the way through the timing belt, water pump, timing sprockets, oil pump and sprocket, crank seal, cam seals and PKtensioner. I have the SuperclampV2 and Super bearings. but am going to wait on that for a while.

So I got a better picture of the injector and scraped the silicon off from it and it looks like they had dropped something on it and broke it in the downward direction. Whitchhunter said that it would be OK if it wasn't leaking fuel but was just a repair to the to the electrical section. Does anyone know if he has the capability to repair such a thing? I'm thinking that I will get another to replace it. Just seems Hokey to me.

Replace. Otherwise, playing with fire.

call Roger and order a new set with the 4 hole pintle caps,
those look like junk warmed over,.

NOTE hang on to your old lower o rings,
if the new lower o rings dont fit tight into the manifold then you should clean the old ones put some DC111 on them and install them

Hopefully, Roger's selling sets (of the 4-hole injectors) only with the correct lower o-ring.

Those look like the orange top 5L Mustang injectors.

I had a set come back from witch-hunter and the black lower o rings did not seem to fit as well as the orange versions so i swapped them
