Deffently not an S4 engine...

Thats the L-jet V-8 that I know and love so much!

Hum, older style tail lamps, L-jet engine, older style square driveing lights, chrome ring around the head lights, US markers. Nope deffently not an S4.

If that the pre-S spoiler on it?

Should we warn the buyer???

Cool

Hey, someone call Lethargy. He seems like a risk taker. Definantly more promising than that basket case he found!

HA! here's the response i got from him:

KingLyonsDen@aol.com
I am going by what Porsche of North America says it is. Unless your Sir name is Porsche and or you built this car at Porsche factory you wouldn't know now would you !! So with that in mind please call your local Porsche dealer and/or Porsche of North America give the VIN# and find out for yourself. By the way they might not of been available to the public until 1987 but they did make one in 1984 and I got it for now.

this guy just can't take a hint!

"S4" "84" got his s's and 8's confused. maybe the dealer was telling him 928 - 84

"Looks to me to be someone's pride and Joy,"- Yeah, the body man who rebuilt it!

"The body is stright and the paint is bright and gleams."- see above

"This one I found at an auction on 11-05-03 just for Ebay shoppers."- uhh, thanks!, I think.

A 2 feedback with a 75% rating. Comforting. Check out the feedback on the Mercedes.

Someone should run a CarFax on it and see what it turns up.

I just hope the potential buyer knows sharks as well as we do. I'd say

1. Front End Accident
2. Repainted
3. Looks to me the frame was realigned, but pictures can be deceiving.
4. None original interior

Think about this. He says ...I have no history on this car but it runs strong and drives smooth. If he thinks it's an S4, he non-directly idvertantly admits to being clueless. An S4 pulls harder than a S.

Typical Auction Dealer.

Bills right, someone should run a Carfax and see. Maybe its gone a VIN tag from an S4 on an 84 shell. It could be a Frankenstein car. Someone could ask the seller for a bunch of body part vin's and see if they all match. If he could be trusted to tell the truth it would tell a lot.

The VIN the guy says he used to verify that the car is an S4 is an 84. There's no excuse for the guy once he starts making racial nasties. He's a certifiable a$$hole.

I called up Porsche Cars North America.

The guy was telling the truth. They have that VIN listed as an S4. However, they also have no cars mannufactoring that year, or any year untill 87, as an S4. Apperently their data base is screwed up.

Someone just send the guy a picture of what a real s4 looks like.
Engine and exterior...

Regardless, it doesn't really matter, because any 928 enthusiast, or even someone with slight knowledge, will know the difference. If someone buys it without knowing anything about these cars, then they would have bought anything, and they deserve what they get for their foolish buying behavior...

All the guy has to do is a little research then change the description of his car or come up with an actual 928S4 to sell. I did send him a picture of an S and an S4. He now sends an e mail every couple of hours or so admonishing me to check with Rusnack, Porsche and to get my head out of my a$$. Not necessarily in that order.

Anyway, it was amusing for a hot second. Lets just hope no one falls victim to this guy.
