Here's another early 92 manual that seems to have the crossover setup.

And it comes not very cheap, at 65k euro with over 100k miles (sorry for the OT)...

So... The rule is crossover fitted by porsche if owner noticed high oil consumption... But no proof of this, i suppose... Not now, at least.
