Default help identifying two connectors in engine bay?

My guess is that one of them are for the hood switch? (hood switch is missing). No idea about the other one. Anyone recognize them?

The black one is for the coolant pressure switch that should be installed where you have that small metal tube near the coolant expansion tank. The switch is part of the low coolant warning system which is a great example of CTO (Compulsive Teutonic Over-engineering.) Can you post any numbers or other marks on the body of the black plug? Mine is MIA and none of the images of electrical connectors in PET look like that connector.

As Mike says I suspect that connector is for the coolant pressure switch. As with most things in the engine bay the pressure switch [a black disc like item about 1 inch in diameter with a small nozzle in and out] that sits in one of the two small lines that connect to the coolant header tank has a tendency to fall apart. Rather than replace the switch many folks take the thing out and replace it with a straight piece of tubing to reinstate the hose. This leaves the connector with nothing to connect in the location shown in your photo.

Will take a look at mine tomorrow if you like.

The coolant pressure switch connector is a 2-pin connector marked with 9656 and the logo KL with a circle around it (Not sure who the OEM is for all the brown bakelite-y multipin connectors with that KL logo ). The actual pressure switch is a VDO 111/006/001, labelled 0.1 bar +/- 0.1 6-12v. Porsche part # is 928 641 513 00.

Ok, could I be right that the coolant switch should have been located right in front of my thumb in the pic? You can see there is a piece of tubing between two rubber lines.

I found a pic(never mind the yellow ring) that pobably shows the coolant pressure switch next to the windcreen washer filler neck, tell me if I'm wrong. It is then just a matter of getting one, replace the dummy tubing with the switch and plug in the connector, job done? Maybe an idea to wait until next coolant change?

Assuming you are talking about the first pic- correct [unless you have an invisible thumb in the second pic- ].

You have exactly what I installed after I found my pressure switch in two pieces. Installed a short length of copper tube to bridge the hose sections. See pics below.
