Just to tell to all the people who came here to help me(included greg brown), i did it. Passenger cam is 3mm retarded, drivers side cam is ok. I will get Porken tool to setup properly cam timing. I spent actually all the night to clean an rebolt parts and doing all the "while you're at it ''jobs, Putting the baffle under oil neck, ans so on... I loaned a compression test tool and will see if i bent valves. I will tell you if this odissey has a good end or not. Thanks for your support.

Well done. I remain optimistic that you have not done any valve damage but will feel much more happy for you if and when we get some positive news. Try to post some pics if you can.

Where do the cam timing marks sit relative to where they were before you started?

If you acquire the 32VR kit recommend you also purchase Ken's Bumpstick kit- makes cam timing so easy. I recently changed out my cam sprockets and thus had to redo the cam timing. Once I had everything out of the way I removed the belt, changed over the sprockets, fitted the belt, did the cam timing and torqued the cam bolts in less than an hour all without any assistance.

I think that Porken stuff for timing is an high vslue for 928 owners... I will buy them.

My mechanic tomorrow will give me a compression tester. Do you know what values i could read with cold engine( apart i never should not read 0 psi)?

What you are looking for are consistent compression pressures within a narrow range. My motor with my kit reads 185 to 188 psig [warm]. I have never tried it when cold but I would expect it to be noticeably lower.

When we tested my motor with two bent inlet valves on No7 there was literally no pressure build up so not much chance of making a mistake. Just follow the tips I posted earlier.

Just to tell you that everything went fine... Valve lifter were empty of oil after 4 months, it is a bit tappety.... But everything is fine.
Compression, just for reference, was in the 155-165 range, cold.

Excellent news- the tappet noise should dissappear after a few seconds of running once the oil galleries are pumped up.

Yep, in fact at operative temperature, i can barely hear only injectors clicking noise. Lesson learned :read read and read again experts tutorials. Then read it again and try to understand what you read. No doubts ? Chances are 1 you have not read enough 2 you 've asked yet to rennlisters 3 you wrote that tutorial.

Thanks again.

P.s.: now 7,30 a.m., tonight i slept without the timing belt nightmare i got into.

I've been watching this thread and hoping for the excellent result that you got.
It's just before dinner time over here, so I will be celebrating your success with a couple of glasses of vino.
